Decent value, few hiccups

I purchased a vol Paris Cayenne during a promo famille offer. The booking process on their website was straightforward, though finding the specific family discount wasn't immediately obvious; I had to search a bit. The price for four of us was competitive compared to other airlines. We also added bagage supplementaire online, which was easy. On the day of travel, boarding was a bit disorganized, with delays in getting everyone seated, but the flight crew was polite. The seats in classe Soleil were what I expected for an economy fare. Arrival was on schedule, which was important. Customer service via phone for a small query about carry-on size before the trip was helpful and quick. All in all, it was a solid choice for the price, but they could refine the boarding process.

Good flight, slow baggage

I booked a vol Paris Fort-de-France ticket in classe Soleil. The flight itself was comfortable enough for the price I paid. Seating was standard. My main issue was the baggage claim at Fort-de-France; it took a really long time to get my luggage, which was a bit frustrating after a long journey. Overall, a decent option, but they could improve on baggage handling speed.

Consistent service for Guadeloupe

This was my third time flying vol Paris Pointe-a-Pitre with Air Caraibes, and they were consistent as always. I always choose them for this route because they're reliable. I bought a billet d'avion classe Caraibes this time, and it felt pretty similar to my previous trips in that class. Check-in was smooth, and the flight departed on time. I even opted for a repas a la carte, which was better than the standard offering. Good to see they maintain their quality.

I'm planning a trip to Pointe-à-Pitre for December. Will there be any sales or promotions around then, or is it usually full price for holiday travel?

M Melissa Miller 3 weeks ago
December is peak season, so sales are less common then. You might catch a flash sale, but typically the best deals are off-peak. Black Friday in November sometimes has something, but no guarantees for December flights specifically.

Yeah, December is tough. I always try to book way in advance if I'm flying around Christmas, prices just skyrocket.

Is it easy to change a flight if something comes up? Or are they super strict with rebooking fees and stuff?

A Adam 1 month ago
It depends on your ticket type. Some fares let you change for a fee, others are more flexible. I changed a flight once and had to pay a decent chunk, but it was possible.

My cousin had to change her return from Cayenne and it was a bit of a hassle online, but she got it sorted eventually with customer service. Expect a fee unless you bought a super flexible fare.

How reliable is Air Caraibes? Are flights usually on time or should I expect delays going to the Caribbean?

M Melissa Lee 1 month ago
In my experience, they're pretty good. Flew with them a few times to Fort-de-France and generally on schedule. Not perfect, but who is?

I've had one or two minor delays, nothing major though. Like any airline, stuff happens, but I wouldn't call them unreliable.

Hey, thinking of booking a flight to Martinique. How's the baggage allowance usually? Just a carry-on or can I bring a checked bag without extra fees?

J Jacob Johnson 4 weeks ago
For economy, you usually get one checked bag up to 23kg included, plus a carry-on. Always good to double check your specific fare class though, it can vary a bit.

Yeah, I flew to Guadeloupe last year and had a checked bag for free. Way better than some other airlines that nickel and dime you for everything.

Can I use miles from their loyalty program to book a flight, or is it just for upgrades?

S Sean S. 1 month ago
Yeah, you can definitely use your Preference miles for tickets! You just select the option when you're going through the booking process on their site. It's usually pretty straightforward.

S Stephanie Moore 1 month ago
I've used my miles for a flight before, it works. Just make sure you have enough to cover it or combine with cash if allowed for that specific booking.
